Brief description:

The DCMS Culture and Sport Evidence (CASE) programme commissioned Cities Institute with TBR (Trends Business Research) to develop a toolkit to enable a standardised approach to the mapping of cultural and sporting assets by a range of stakeholders, and create data sets that can be migrated onto central mapping software. The aim of the project was to create a toolkit which should lead to an improvement in the quality of data collection over time for the arts and museums, heritage, sport, libraries and archives domains. The toolkit provides a systematic approach to the collection and description of cultural and sporting assets. This will help local areas looking to map their assets by providing consistency with other data sources to aid comparison and understanding. As part of the toolkit development pilot studies were undertaken with Woolwich (LB Greenwich), London Living Places, CultureMap (Audiences London), London Thames Gateway and One North East. The toolkit can be downloaded from the following link
