Remains of the Day
Lead artist/researcher: Ernst Fischer
Remains of the day forms part of Dr. Fischer's research into performance documentation and archiving, which is concerned with re-imagining 'documentation' as 'performance' and vice versa. The project, which is still in its infancy, is related both to Dr. Fischer's exploration of performance as service and his interest in dust as documentary trace material of past events.
It aims to
- investigate the forensic analysis of dust - as well as other performance remnants - as text
- create small performance fragments in response to a witnessed larger scale presentation
- produce an artist's book - including photographs and DVD recordings - as performance document
