Experiences and Needs of Horn of Africa Children in Camden Schools

Overview

The project aims to explore the educational experiences and needs of Horn of Africa (Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia and Sudan) children in Camden schools. The project consists of 3 stages:

  • Analysis of quantitative examination results (by Camden statistics unit)
  • Fieldwork in 6 primary and secondary schools to gather qualitative data;
  • A report will be produced to Camden’s EMAS team. The intention is to identify the needs of Horn of Africa children and make recommendations, which can be used to inform teacher practice, and develop further good practice in enhancing the achivement of Horn of Africa children in Camden schools.
