BA Fine Art Student Featured in Computer Arts Magazine

A final year student on the BA Fine Art course at Sir John Cass, Department of Art Media and Design, who recently showed his work at The Brick Lane Gallery, has had his work featured in this month's edition of Computer Arts.

Graham Asker’s work explores aspects and notions of visual perception. He is interested in the mind’s ability to take a 2D image and build a three dimensional vision of the world surrounding us.

JCAMD Academic at major international film event

Jane Barnwell, Senior Lecturer in Film and Broadcast Production at the Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media and Design, will be speaking at a major Film Design Conference in Venice at the end of November.

Jane’s talk will discuss the work of celebrated British Oscar-winning film production designer, Peter Lamont. Lamont will also be present at the conference to give a masterclass entitled Sense of Realism, Sense of Visionary.

JCAMD Graduate Designs for Ethical Fashion

London Metropolitan University produces successful graduates each year and Parveen Virdi, who graduated from the Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media and Design with a BA in Graphic Design, has gone from strength to strength since leaving the University. Parveen has been placed on two internships since he graduated, as well as produced some freelance work of his own.

Eastender Archive Project featured in JCAMD photography magazine

The latest issue of Activate, the Photography Magazine from the Sir John Cass Department of Art Media and Design has been released. Issue 3 of the successful publication, which is edited by Senior Lecturer in Photography Susan Andrews, explores matters relating to the Eastender Archive that the university is building, initially with the work of the photographer Paul Trevor. Staff at London Metropolitan University are working with Trevor to edit his archive of 120,000 images of the Brick Lane area, taken over three decades. The magazine captures both a selection of the stunning work as well as reflecting on the challenging and sometimes painful process of an ambitious project such as the Eastender archive.
