seven cloth-bound portfolios

Marinade XII was realised as a limited edition Artist’s Publication, written by Iain Sinclair and designed by Susanna Edwards. An edition of 7 cloth bound portfolios containing original letterpress prints, hand produced photographic prints included texts, derived by Sinclair from newspapers, magazines and books whilst within a sea-facing room with a balcony.

As with earlier research projects, the connection between place and geography informs the outcomes. References to the condition of being at sea, being displaced, rushed with images and sounds inform 12 texts and 12 snapshots from location. The writing combines responses to images with texts dense and layered with influences.

Letterpress printed at Circle Press.
