Today’s meta-modern society is influenced by the characteristics of multiculturalism. Multiculturalism comes as a result of population and cultural migration and brings with it the dilemma of balancing acceptance, tolerance and openness to cultural pluralism with fear that traditional ways of life will be eroded. We use the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale Instrument to evaluate the intercultural sensitivity of teachers and related this to personal characteristics of the individuals and their training in cultural sensitivity. We found that women with in-service training believed themselves well informed on intercultural education, as were teachers with a university primary education degree. Postgraduate university conferences on intercultural education were considerd very effective.
