National Cinemas have their own patterns, some of which change over, some do not. Each society has fundamental patterns to be modelled through heroes/heroines: individuals are presented with rights and wrongs, obedience and disobedience, etc. Important issues such as justice, responsibility, peer pressure, peace, conflict-resolution, education and democracy are presented to society through film. This paper considers the image of the child and citizen in Turkish Films. Content analysis of popular films, representing different eras in Turkish cinema., show how these concepts vary over time and how the understanding and values of society change in terms of the ideal child and ideal citizenship.
